an Owl-tastic day

Much to my surprise, I discovered two owls waiting for me when I returned from classes today.

The first contained the yarn I purchased for my swap partner. Wow, is it gorgeous! The colour is bright and rich, and it's unbelievably soft. I bet it's going to look wonderful all knit up. Here's a little teaser photo:

(I had debated on showing a photo, but I figure, hey, my partner knows that she's getting yarn, and she knows she's a Gryffindor, so nothing here should be too surprising.)

The second owl was a gift for me...containing an owl! How funny is that? One of my friends from home created a mixed media owl for me. He's adorable!
